Referee Overview
EMSSC uses current and past Competitive players to referee its rec games.
Our Ref Coordinator will host a few Ref Clinics prior to the beginning of season.
If you are interested in becoming a ref, register clicking the button above.
Once the Ref Coordinator reviews your profile and adds you to the team, you will be notified via email.
All communication is done on the LeagueApps Play app and most likely through your parents' account.
You must be at least 13 years of age and have an understanding of the game of soccer.
Preference is given to current and former EMSSC competitive players.
Our referees are paid! We pay a per game fee. The pay scale differs by game - factors are game age group and position.
The pay ranges from $12 to $20 per game. Centers are paid more than ARs.
The Center position is given to more experienced refs.
You can work your way up each season.
Checks are written every two weeks.
There are six weeks of games in a season.
On the third Saturday, you can pick up your check in the garage.
After the last game of the season, checks will be mailed to the address on file.
Make sure that your information is accurate and up to date in our system.
You will be invited to join the Ref Team in the LeagueApps app.
All communication will be done in the app.
If you do not have a mobile phone, you can use your parent's phone for the app, with their permission. It will then be their responsibility to communicate on your behalf.
