East Moline Silvis Soccer Club Travel Program
The general purpose of the Club is to provide a coordinated soccer program
for the children of the community. The program provides for the growth and
enrichment of the total individual through quality coaching. The objectives
are directed toward guiding and assisting each player's mental, social,
and physical abilities to their fullest capacity. Emphasis is placed on
sportsmanship as well as on the development of skills. The EMSSC Constitution
and by-laws is a sincere effort to promote respect for rules and authority,
promote good sportsmanship, and promote self-discipline among the contestants.
EMSSC is a member of the Illinois Youth Soccer Association, which conducts
a competitive program for players with advanced skills and greater ambition.
These players may have their sights set on a college soccer scholarship
or even playing for the US National or Olympic teams.
The Illinois Youth Soccer competitive program consists of 12 major leagues
across the State of Illinois with more than 35,000 players registered on
over 2,000 teams.
EMSSC Travel Teams play in the ILLOWA Soccer League. Teams play six to
eight league games in the fall and six league games in the spring of
each year. EMSSC Travel Teams also play in IYSA and ISA sanctioned
tournaments throughout the year.
The Travel Soccer Team Training and individual Player Development is
under the direction of Coach Philip Weaver, EMSSC D.O.C. Teams follow
various curriculums developed by the D.O.C. and also train with their
assigned Staff Coach assisting the team¹s volunteer coach with various
technical and tactical skills necessary for the team. The DOC and Staff
Coaches, along with each team¹s Volunteer Coach, help our travel teams
and players reach their full potential.
During the season various Team Building Events are scheduled outside
player¹s training and game schedules.
