Travel Coaching Staff
The Staff Coaches are responsible for coordinating and implementing a
variety of training programs for assigned Travel Soccer Club Teams. They
direct and supervise individual travel team coaches within an age group.
Responsible for meeting the clubıs and D.O.C.ıs approved curriculum
relative to player and team, including training of coaches and players
within assigned age groups.
Eric Cassling, Staff Coach
Coach Eric brings his enthusiasm and love of the game to the youth players
in the EMSSC Travel Program. Eric is responsible as a Staff Coach for
teams ranging U10 through U18.
Coach Cassling is entering his fourth year with the United Township
girls' soccer program. He is the Assistant Coach under the direction of
Head Coach, Phil Weaver. Coach Cassling is also the freshmen boys' Head
Coach at UTHS.
Eric is a graduate of UTHS and played soccer for the UTHS
Panthers.
When not coaching soccer youıll find Eric building his vintage hot rod.
Tony Davila, Staff Coach
Coach Davilaıs main responsibility is to train and develop the U8 and U9
youth players while identifying youth players to enter the
travel program. He has many years of experience with youth soccer players
and has provided the necessary skills for them to be first year travel
soccer players.
Coach Tony is entering his 11th year with the United Township girls
soccer program. He is the Head JV Coach of the girls' and boys' soccer
teams.
Coach Davila graduated form UTHS, Lincoln College, and St. Ambrose
University. He was a four-year varsity letter winner at UTHS and a
two-year letter winner at Lincoln College.
When he's not coaching soccer, youıll find Tony gripping the dashboard of his
car as he teaches 15-year-old student drivers.
Gary Taylor, Staff Coach
Coach Taylorıs main responsibility is to train and develop the U15
through U19 boyıs travel players. Gary has experience with youth soccer
players as a coach and brings many years of knowledge to the program.
He is also the boyıs U15 and U16 Travel Head Coach.
Coach Taylor graduated from UTHS.
When he is not coaching soccer, Gary heads up the United Township Jr.
Panther Football Program, where his main responsibility includes
developing programs to enhance each playerıs development while overseeing
his coaching staff and volunteers.
Kevin DeVriese, Player Development Coordinator
Coach Kevinıs main responsibility is to assure the Travel Team Soccer
Program has the tools and resources available to all individuals
involved. Kevin also assists in the development and training of assigned
youth travel teams. He serves as the liaison between the Travel Soccer
Program and EMSSC Board. He is also the boys' U12 Sharks and girls' U16 Freedom.
Coach Kevin graduated form Moline High School and Illinois State
University.
When he is not coaching soccer, Kevin is an active youth wrestling coach
for the USA Wrestling Federation. He serves as coach for Assumption
Rising Knights, Davenport, Iowa and Moline Wrestling Club, Moline, IL. He
is a member of the Young Guns Wrestling Academy, Pennsylvania. He has
coached on the State and National level, earning Wrestlers State and
National recognition.
