Philip Weaver -- EMSSC Director of Coaching

Coach Weaver is responsible for developing and implementing a variety of training programs for the Travel Soccer Club. He also directs other Staff Coaches and is ultimately responsible for meeting the clubıs overall objectives relative to player and team development, which includes development and implementation of training curriculums, training of volunteer coaches and travel players.

Coaching Experience

Coach Weaver is currently the boyıs and girlıs Head Soccer Coach at United Township, East Moline, Illinois. Under his guidance, the Lady Panthers have won a Regional & Sectional Championship in 2001. The Panthers have also won the Western Big Six Championships in 2003, and in 2004. As the boys head coach the Panthers won a state championship in 1999, finished 2nd in the country in the USA Today poll in 1999, finished 4th in the state in 1998 and have won four Western Big Six titles in 1996, 1999, 2000 and 2001. Coach Weaver was inducted into the Schoolıs Hall of Fame in 2005.

Prior to coming to UT in 1996, Coach Weaver was the men's and women's Head Coach at Sienna Heights University. In 1990 he directed the women's program to a NAIA National Soccer Third Place Finish. His womenıs teams were ranked nationally in the NAIA Top 20 during 1989, 1990, 1993 and 1994. Coach Weaver was honored as the NAIA Menıs District 23 Soccer Coach of the Year in 1989 and 1990. He was the WHAC Womenıs Conference Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1993. He was inducted into the Universityıs Hall of Fame in 2000.

Coach Weaver has many years of experience in training and developing youth soccer players. He has instructed at the Michigan Olympic Development Program from 1989 through 1990 where also was the boyıs U17 Head Soccer Coach.

He has served and instructed in many Regional and National Camps such as the World Cup Soccer School, Atlanta, Georgia, Midwest Soccer Academy, Oxford, Michigan, Hubert Vogelsinger Soccer Academy in Long Island, New York and Boston, Massachusetts, and as Camp Director of the EMSSC Camp, East Moline, Illinois.

Playing Experience

From 1978 through 1980, Philip Weaver was a member of the Chesterfield Football Club and the Shrewsbury Town Football Club both in England.

From 1978 through 1988, he played his semi-professional football for Worcester City, Solihull Borough, and Knowle Town Football Clubs in England.
