Mission Statement

EMSSC MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission at EMSSC is to foster individual player and team development through the game of soccer.  This will help build strong players and competitive teams.  We are dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment through our experienced and energetic coaching staff.

VISION STATEMENT

Our vision at EMSSC is to teach individual and team responsibility through soccer related challenges.  We expect positive character compliments from the peers within the community.  We want to consistently educate the players through positive coaching role models about responsibility, accountability, and team work.  We also expect a strong committed work ethic from both our coaching staff and players within the club.

We are taking orders for Spirit Wear.  You will be able to order until midnight on June 3rd 

All orders need to be mailed because the field garage will be closed for the season.

Also we are walking in the forth of July parade in East Moline again this year.  All soccer players are welcome to walk. 

We will post more info as it gets closer.  In addition to Spirit Wear their is a special Forth of July shirt.

Director of Coaching Job Opening For EMSSC

East Moline Silvis Soccer Club (EMSSC)

Director of Coaching Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Further develop and implement a comprehensive player and coach development program for our competitive Boys & Girls teams.

  • Retain, recruit and lead top-level coaches.

  • Lead coaching educational training sessions for Staff Coaches.

  • Work with the Board of Directors to formulate and implement a strategic plan for EMSSC

  • Attend practices and games for each premier team throughout the year to provide assistance, feedback and advice.

  • Coordinate and run skills clinics for the development of players.

  • Retain, recruit players to grow the size of the competitive program.

  • Represent EMSSC to the soccer community to advance EMSSC’s reputation and standing.

  • Attend monthly Board Meetings, communicate with Board Members and advise on all soccer issues.

  • Run the competitive soccer program’s day to day soccer operations.

 

Requirements:

  • USSF C or D license or NSCAA Premier or equivalent is preferred.  NSCAA DOC Diploma is desirable.

  • Professional or college level playing experience is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.

  • At least 7 years’ experience coaching youth soccer is required.  Previous experience in a DOC or assistant DOC role is strongly preferred.

  • Coaching education experience at the national, state or local level is desirable.

  • Knowledge of the college recruitment systems and processes at the Div. I, II and III level is preferred.

 

General Skills and Traits Desired:

  • Proven ability to recruit, educate and retain coaches.
  • Skilled leader with an inclusive leadership style.
  • Ability to think and plan strategically and practically to convert visions into reality.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with growing the enrollment of the competitive soccer programs.

EMSSC Scholarship award winners

Congratulations to Ryleigh O'Brien and Jordan Griser for winning the 2018 EMSSC scholarship awards.  We award a $1000.00 scholarship to both a female and male graduating senior who have played in our club for at least 5 years. and will be attending college. We are happy to support Ryleigh as she attends Loras College and Jordan Griser as he attends Scott Community College.

EMSSC Rec Registration is now open
2018/19 Rec Soccer Registration (Fall & Spring)

 

This registration includes both Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 Rec seasons. This about  12 weeks of soccer (6 Fall & 6 Spring). It includes uniforms(shirt,socks,shorts) 


The total cost to participate in the 2018/19 Rec season is $100 per child. This covers both the cost of registration ($70) as well as the fundraiser ($30).  The family maximum for the registration portion is $140 and fundraiser fee for each registered child.

 

There is a $2.50 processing fee for online payment.

Examples:

1 child would cost $100 ($70 registration + $30 fundraiser)
2 children would cost $200 ($140 registration + $60 fundraiser)
3 children would cost $230 ($140 registration + $90 fundraiser)
4 children would cost $280 ($140 registration + $120 fundraiser)

Time: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm (1 day camp)

The purpose of the ID camp is for prospective student-athletes to interact with current college coaching staff.  This camp would be a great opportunity for you to showcase your abilities in multiple games in front of various College Coaching Staff.

Speed/Agility/Quickness Camp
2018 SAQ Camp - Speed, Agility & Quickness Training (U9-U18)

 

 

EMSSC is proud to announce we are partnering with Justin Schattemen for Speed, Agility and Quickness training.  We are offering this to our members for only $50.00 for the entire session.  Non-members will be charged $70. A $10 late fee will be added after June 8th. This is a great benefit to our members, and we encourage all of our players to take advantage of this special offer.  Registration is now open on our web site. 

 

Sessions will be each Monday & Wednesday starting June 11th and ending Aug 1st.

U9-U13   10:15am-11:15am

U14-U18   9:00am-10:00am

Location: Jacobs Park, near soccer garage

Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ)

Do you want an edge over your opponent, by being faster and quicker?  Then join the SAQ to get specific training to give you that edge on the soccer field.  The program will teach proper running technique, body control/change of direction quickness, and conditioning to prepare you for the upcoming season.  I will also talk about nutrition for best results, before, during and after a practice or game.  Good luck and hope to see you soon.

Director of Coaching

We would like to notify the membership that our Director of Coaching Phil Weaver has stepped down from this position. He has decided to concentrate on the high school program. We want to thank him for his dedication, expertise and the countless hours he has dedicated to working with our members.  Thanks to Coach Weaver’s guidance and dedication our club has grown and improved.  We look forward to continuing our relationship with Coach Weaver and the high school program. 

The board is hard at work on looking for a replacement. We believe both our Rec and Competitive programs will have exciting changes in the near future.

2018/19 PRIDE (Travel) Team Tryouts

 

Register to try-out for the EMSSC Pride program for the 2018/19 season. Try-outs will be June 4, 5 & 6, 2018 at Jacob's North East Park.  Makeup tryouts will be June 12, 2018. Please watch the website for updates or changes to schedules.

 

Starting in the fall of 2018, Pride (Travel) players will no longer be required to participate in the rec program.

Try-outs are mandatory for ALL players wanting to participate in the travel program for the 2018/19 season. There is a required  $25.00 tryout fee, followed by a $50 Commitment fee if your child is selected. You will have 3 days to pay the $50 fee to be rostered on the team. The $75 will be applied to your first payment upon selection to a team. ($2.50 processing for online payment) If you are not selected for a team your $25.00 will be refunded to you. Mailed payments must be received by June 1, 2018.
